Cover FAQs

Common cover questions

Simple answers about cover levels, exclusions, excess payments and repair requests.

Is everything covered as soon as I join?

No. Cover is subject to your start date, plan terms, eligibility, exclusions and any waiting period that applies. Pre-existing faults are usually not covered.

What is the £75 excess?

The £75 excess is payable where a repair visit is required. It must usually be paid before engineer attendance is arranged.

Are old boilers covered?

Boilers over 15 years old or unsupported by the manufacturer may not be covered. Always check your plan terms before signing up.

Is sludge or poor water quality covered?

Damage caused by sludge, scale, corrosion or contamination is usually excluded. Keeping your system maintained helps reduce the chance of problems.

Does Smart Cover include plumbing and electrics?

No. Smart Cover is boiler and controls only. Plumbing, electrics and drainage are associated with Total Home Cover.

What happens if something is not covered?

If an issue is not covered, we will explain why and let you know what options are available. You may still be able to arrange a repair separately.
